If you follow me on Social Media you will know that I do love a sunflower or few! I was really excited to find a Pick Your Own field near where I live last week and I think I’ll be paying them another visit soon.

Like most of us, I have been very upset by the effects of the war in Ukraine and how its people are suffering. People, just like you and I, who just want to go about their day peacefully and safely but who have lost everything or live in constant fear. I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to have to leave loved ones and a beloved home behind with only what you can carry to keep your family safe.

I love to paint and draw for relaxation and I felt inspired to create a sunflower painting, mainly for my own fun but also because I wanted to find a way to help raise funds to help those affected by the war. I have had the painting printed on to notecards and all profits from sales of these will be going to two Ukraine relief organisations.

The first is for a friend of mine who has work colleagues in Poland who are assisting refugees fleeing Ukraine and those who are choosing to stay and fight. They desparately need food, medical supplies and equipment to help save lives and give refugees a roof over their heads.

The second is the Ukraine Relief Group, who are fairly local to me in Tunbridge Wells, so I’ve teamed up with them too. They send vital supplies to those still there but they also support those who have been relocated to the area. They need clothes, childrens’ toys, food, and ordinary everyday supplies, among other things.

You can purchase the cards from me for £2.50 each (plus £1.50 p&p per order) by dropping me an email to hello@thecoddiwomplady.com or a PM on Instagram or Facebook so I can send payment details to you. They are also for sale in the gift shop at Pashley Manor Gardens in Ticehurst and in Ooh How Lovely in Hawkhurst.

The cards are printed in the UK from fully sustainable forests and are blank inside for your own personal message.

Thank you so much for reading this and I hope you will help me share some sunflower cheer!
